Studio811 is a hybrid music school and audio production company based in Central Wisconsin. It is run by musician and recording artist Ryan Summers who has over 15 years experience creating professional audio for a wide variety of projects.

My business philosophy is simple: I want you to sound your absolute best! Whether it’s helping a student learn a new song or a touring artist needing to polish off their latest album, I offer professional service at a reasonable price. Let’s fill the world with music!

My Teaching Philosophy

My focus is on ear training and advanced music listening. Music sight reading and technique development are also important, but I believe the cultural and personal value of music education flows through the ears. Proper ear training makes for a much more adaptable musician. It also leads to a greater lifelong appreciation of music.

I was brought up learning the Suzuki method, which focuses heavily on the learning-by-listening approach. However, I don't believe one needs to strictly follow the Suzuki method itself to get the benefits of this approach. That said, each student learns differently. I will make adjustments to accommodate a student's personal learning style as I get to know them.

I believe music performance is also important and encourage all students to participate in recitals, group lessons, or any opportunities for public performance. If playing in public terrifies you or your student, don't worry! I never make recitals or any public playing mandatory. I believe music is something to be shared, but this can come in many forms.
